About
Instrument Society of India
We at ISOI Focus on skills and enhancement of technologies
The VIT Student Chapter of The Instrument Society of India, headquartered at IISc, Bangalore. Committed to organizing technical and non technical events for students with an aim of enriching technical knowledge and encouraging projects.
We are the instrumentation chapter of vellore institute of technology which we will concentrate on how to improve technology and handling different projets that can solve real world problems.
We are having different domains where each domain is having different roles where our core members are allowed to work as a team and solve a task that is given to them.
In technical domain where the core members are divided into team of 2-3 where each team is asked to come up with their own ideas of projects that can solve the real world problem.
In this session we have covered the recent advancement in smart electronics and artificial intelligent systems. We have explored the field of automation where all electronics and power system will be controlled through a machine without the need of human intervention and discussed the ongoing research in the field. We have also seen the progress reports of ongoing technical projects under the chapter. Doubts related to artificial intelligence were also discussed.

Alexa-Fied
IoT home automation is slowly but steadily becoming an important part of the daily lives of the people around the world.IoT helps make system organized and create essential, flexible and reasonable system architectures that have the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to computer interaction. In this workshop, you will learn to create a voice-based assistant that can be employed for home automation. You will also make a distance-based door system and a temperature monitoring system.

Blueprint
Blueprint was a 3-day flagship event conducted by ISOI-VIT from 20th February to 22nd February 2019 in TT-gallery 001. The event covered topics such as: - Data Science & ML, Cloud & DevOps, and 3D printing on the 3 respective days. The speakers for the event were: Mr. A R Janardhanan, Mr. Milind Kar Ray and Mr. Vikas Garg, who spoke on their respective topics on these respective days. The event attracted a large crowd of 250 students from different branches. The event also proved to be a window for the budding engineers to the world of technology. Each day of the event was followed by giving off a memento to the guest speakers as a token of appreciation. The duration of the event was of 2 hrs during which the crowd was excellently managed by the coordinators and volunteers.

MALARIA DETECTION USING TRANSFER LEARNING
TRANSFER LEARNING
The main objective of this project is to give patients the instant result whether they have malaria or not. Our product is easy to use and does not require any medical knowledge therefore can be used by anyone. It will also ensure contactless checkup during this COVID-19 pandemic and reduce some workload for the doctors.Using transfer learning models such as (VGG16, VGG19, Inception etc.) and adequate dataset, the accuracy of prediction can be boosted to a great extent and reducing the timing of medical tests to a matter of seconds. This project could be a great step to control a disease like malaria.
This project describes the construction and design of a simple low cost IoT and GSM based healthcare monitoring system at home. This framework consists of various smart sensors like pulse oximeter heart rate sensor (MAX30100) to measure patients SPO2 and pulse reading, IR temperature sensor (MLX90614) to measure body temperature and also equipped with a GSM module to send SMS (short message service) to doctors when body vitals are above or below normal level so that the doctors can take emergency measures immediately. The system is also equipped with a ventilator for use in emergency purposes when the patient's SPO2 levels are low. This can be used without any medical help. This system uses NodeMCU as a microcontroller board with Google Firebase as an online database to keep a track of patient’s vitals on a real-time basis. These data can be later accessed by doctors through laptops and smartphones. This system will help bridge gaps between the patients and doctors during the pandemic situation.
A bot that can record the real-time temperature and SP02 of every individual and send it to the doctors, so that they can filtrate the people who need to go for the second level of testing for COVID-19.Based on real-time IoT technology.Equipped with a system that follows both hospital lines and also light. The overall prototype of the bot with the chassis, sensors and sub-systems costs about $55 (₹4000).
